Unfortunately Athletic Initiative is no longer offering Summer RBI. It was not our decision. If you miss the program and our involvement, email the Padres community relations department and let them know. We will miss the kids and the community building that has happened the past few Summers! We will miss the ball playing!
The YMCA is still offering JR. RBI baseball for kids 4-12. Softball is no longer a part of the program.
Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) is a Major League Baseball youth outreach program designed to increase participation and interest in baseball and softball among underserved youth; encourage academic participation and achievement; increase number of talented athletes prepared to play in college and minor leagues; promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the game; and teach the value of teamwork.
RBI Baseball and Softball Divisions
5-10U coach pitch**
10-12 Majors 12U**
13-15 Juniors 14U**
16-18 Seniors 18U
**Kids will be allowed to play up on a case by case basis. There will be beginners playing down on some occasions. The RBI board and coaches will ALWAYS have the safety of the kids as first priority and will ALWAYS put the players FIRST!
